New Applicant Registration

Your email address will be your Login ID. Please choose an email address that will be active and that you will check throughout the year, as your email account on record is our primary means of communication with you.

Also select a password and a security question answer. Choose a password that contains at least six characters, including at least one uppercase character, one lowercase character, and one numeric character. Your password and security question answer are case sensitive. Please remember this email address and your chosen password for future use.

Once you register, you can log in to continue or complete your application. (Submit one application only; if your name is found on more than one application, your additional application(s) will be cancelled.)

Note: If you intend to add additional people to your application during this process, you will be considered the "primary applicant." Only you will receive any confirmation emails from us, and only you will be responsible for selecting a housing unit for your group.

  • Instructions are provided on each page as you proceed through the application. You may also view and print a complete set of instructions.

To Minimize Problems
  • Use Mozilla Firefox (latest version), Google Chrome (latest version), or Safari (latest version). Other browsers are not currently being supported. (When the Internet Explorer vulnerability problem is corrected, use of version 9 or higher is recommended.)
  • Disable pop-up blockers on your web browser or browser toolbar. Because our web site utilizes pop-ups for instructions and collecting information, it will be necessary to make sure pop-up blockers are turned off. Below are instructions for turning off your blocker on some of the more popular browsers.

Internet Explorer

    • Click your Tools menu
    • Click on Pop-up Blocker
    • Click on Pop-up Blocker setting
    • Now in the next box that opens type *.harvard.edu in the sites allowed and click close. This will allow you to keep your blocker activated for other sites while allowing pop-ups to work on any Harvard University site.

Google Toolbar

    • Click on the text that tells you how many pop-ups have been blocked.
    • This will unblock only the site that you are on.
    • The text should now read "Site pop-ups allowed".

Yahoo Toolbar

    • If your pop-up blocker is activated on this toolbar, the small button that looks like a file window will be blue and yellow.
    • To turn your blocker off, click on the button and click on "Enable pop-ups". This will remove the check mark, which will turn the blocker off.
  • If the website appears slow, avoid multiple mouse clicks. This will not resolve this temporary situation.
  • If you continue to experience technical difficulties, please email huhousing@harvard.edu. Please note that we are only available during standard business hours (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time/Eastern Standard Time, Monday - Friday). We will respond to your email as quickly as possible.

Please note: Our website is maintained every day between the hours of 4:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time/Eastern Daylight Time. You may experience intermittent issues during this period. (Eastern Daylight Time begins on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November each year. The clocks move one hour ahead in March and one hour back, to Eastern Standard Time, in November.) Click here for time zone help.
