Portal Logins Disabled during Upgrade

The HU Housing Application and Leasing system will be undergoing an upgrade from

Tuesday, October 23 through November 2018

Portal visitors will be unable to log in or create new housing applications during this time.

This upgrade will completely replace the system now in place, and it is our hope that it will enable us to provide a more efficient and customer-focused leasing process going forward. We appreciate your patience during our maintenance period.


  • If you want to rent a unit, please check our Announcements Monday through Friday; if you see something of interest, contact us for further details.
  • After our upgraded system is live we will invite you to register and submit a NEW housing application and gain access the Currently Available listings, if you need housing prior to March 1, 2019.
  • Please check our Announcements periodically, and watch your email near the end of November for our application invitation and instructions.


  • You may submit work order requests for apartment maintenance during the upgrade period by calling, emailing, or visiting your property management office. Go to http://huhousing.harvard.edu/residents/welcome-and-arrival-information. Select your property from the drop-down menu. Once you are on your property Welcome page, scroll down for hours and contact information.
  • Non-Harvard-paid employee residents who pay rent directly to HUH: Please note that the online credit card payment function is currently disabled. You may submit your rent payment by check or money order in person or by mail; by wire transfer; or by credit card in person at the Harvard Housing Office. Complete instructions and address information can be found HERE.
  • During the upgrade, the required method of rent payment for student residents (through the University billing system) and employee residents (through payroll deduction) will not be affected.
  • Please check our Announcements periodically, and watch your email near the end of November for our “system is live” notice so you will know when you again can resume access to the Resident Portal at www.huhousing.harvard.edu.

Minimizing Problems
Take the following steps to minimize problems.
  • Use Mozilla Firefox (latest version), Google Chrome (latest version), Internet Explorer (version 9 or higher), or Safari (latest version). Other browsers are not currently supported.
  • Disable pop-up blockers on your web browser.
  • If the web site appears slow, avoid multiple mouse clicks. This will not resolve this temporary situation.
  • If you continue to experience technical difficulties, please email huhousing@harvard.edu. Please note that we are only available during standard business hours (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time/Eastern Daylight Time*, Monday - Friday). We will respond to your email as quickly as possible.

Please note: Our website is maintained every day between the hours of 4:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time/Eastern Daylight Time. You may experience intermittent issues during this period. (*Eastern Daylight Time begins on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November each year. The clocks move one hour ahead in March and one hour back, to Eastern Standard Time, in November.) Click here for time zone help.
